Our official first date was at Kobe steak house. He made me try sake for the first time...warm, it tasted like gym socks. After enjoying some
delicious Asian foods, we went back to Ale's place and watched Old School. We ended up talking the whole time instead. I remember just looking at him and thinking this could be the one. We had so much in common and truly enjoyed each others company.

The proposal

It was Thanksgiving morning of 2017. It was freezing outside, but Ale insisted we go hike at Castlewood. I bundled up in a bunch of clothing and was not thrilled about the arctic adventure. On the way to Castlewood, Ale made multiple wrong turns. I was so confused why, since it was one of our favorite spots to be when it is nice out. Finally after a few detours we made it and started our hike. I knew we had to finish the hike quickly since we had multiple stops on our Thanksgiving Day. Ale pleaded to go the long way and pulled me out onto a ledge. He pulled a backpack off his back, which I am not sure why I did not find this odd before. During that time he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was no longer freezing, but overcome with happiness. I was so excited to say YES to spending the rest of my life with my best friend. A second surprise occurred when both of our parents appeared walking up the trail excited to celebrate with us!
